Organizations to survive and produce new productions in their surrounded environment need new technology. One of the ways to acquisition technology is transfer technology from other organization or countries. One of the most important problems which industries in developing countries are wrestling with is non-effectiveness of transferred technology. The reason for this, is the failure to complete the phases of transfer of technology or lack of improvement in these phases. The technology transfer process has six interactive phases: the selection and acquisition, adaptation, assimilation, utilization, development and diffusion. In this study, field research and studies in the field of technology transfer process is investigated and influential factors in the technology transfer process are identified. With t student model, a significant relationship between these components are reviewed and confirmed. Then through collecting expert opinions, the success of the technology transfer process is evaluated and importance of the phases are specified by extending the classical analytic hierarchy process (AHP) method and They are compared with a success rate, And by IPA, both the importance and performance aspects were evaluated so by determining priorities for improvement and resource allocation, the technology transfer process hasbeen improved. Although this work can be viewed as a case study in Samam co. Manuscript profile

Science parks (SPs) are organizations bringing research and industry. Their aim is to promote culture of innovation of their associated businesses and knowledge-based institution. Given the increasing number of SPs that are being set out both in highly industrialized as well as developing countries, the problem of measuring the performance of science parks is becoming paramount both in practiontoners and academicians agenda. The present work is aimed at evaluating Iranian SPs that are members of IASP based on criteria the repercussion of the science park in the territory. Performance criteria that used are networking, convention and collaboration stipulated between science park lab’s and local firms, new products and processes adopted by local firms and developed by the collaboration with the science park, number of firms born by the collaboration with the science park within re-industrializations programmes of abandoned industrial areas, number of workers employed in firms originated from the collaboration with science park and number of environmental improvement carried out in collaboration with science park’s lab. In This study these criteria are localized based on Iranian SPs circumstances. FAHP is applied to determine the relative weights of the evaluation criteria and FTOPSIS is applied to rank the alternatives. Science parks’ rank order of performance in these criteria is as follows: Isfahan STP> Fars STP> Khorasan STP> University of Tehran STP> Arac STP> Persian Gulf STP> Pardis STP> East Azarbaijan STP> Yazd STP> Guilan STP> Kerman STP> Hamedan STP> Kermanshah STP. performance measurement system has a critical role in organizations, since the system can demonstrate how much an organization achieves its objectives and specifies the areas that need improvement and consequently managers can make necessary reformation programs to improve their organizational performance. Science and Technology Parks as structures which follow promotion and innovation locally as well as nationally are also deprived of a standardized method to measure their success or failure; a specific and formal performance measurement method that is based on a specific analyzing framework and able to evaluate the performance of Science and Technology Parks. Extracting science and technology parks’ characteristics and the performance measurement systems from literature, we offer a performance measurement framework contained six components including identity and legal structure of Park; main stakeholders’ expectations; expectations from stakeholders; managers’ commitment and proficiency; interactions with universities, research institutions and industries; and finally Park’s real mission and strategies. The latter is the reflection of other components producing performance measures. This framework can be utilized to evaluate the performance of Iran’s as well other Science and Technology Parks outside. Manuscript profile

Business intelligence (BI) is the tool used by enterprises to collect, manage and analyze structural and non-structural data and also information by taking advantage of modern information technology. It utilizes a substantial amount of collected data during the daily operational processes, and transforms the data into information and knowledge to avoid the supposition and ignorance of the enterprises. In the last decade, Business intelligence has evolved as one of the critical applications in organizations to provide useful insight, support decision-making, and drive organizational performance. However, to avoid the ineffective experiences during the deployment, it is important to clarify the impact factors of a BI system and find out a Suitable assessment method to evaluate the performance of BI systems. Evaluating the effectiveness of business intelligence systems is vital to our understanding of the value and efficacy of management actions and investments. This research is a descriptive survey. We construct an Assessment model to assess the performance of business intelligence systems based on the outcomes of previous researches. Furthermore, an expert questionnaire using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to filter out useful performance indicators. The analytic hierarchy process is a structured technique for organizing and analyzing complex decisions. Finally, we analyze a real case by using the constructed assessment model for Business Intelligence systems. We choose an automotive parts manufacturer as a case. The survey sample population consisted of 66 randomly taken employees and managers of the case. The results indicate that the performance of Business Intelligence system in our case was suitable. According to many economists, since the multinational enterprises entering the host economy have relatively more modern technologies than domestic firms, developing countries can reduce their technological gap through FDI inflow channel. It should be noted that the technology spillover of foreign investors is a function of domestic capacity for absorbing these technological spillovers. Considering the determining role of industry sector in the world economy, the goal of present study is to investigate the spillover effects of foreign investment from technological perspective, on the performance of industry sector of Iran during 1995-2009 years, in form of development plans. The results of the study show that during the second development plan a considerable correlation did not exist among improving the human capital (as the absorption capacity criteria), absorbing the foreign investment, spillover effects, and the industry sector performance. While in the third development plan, the mentioned correlations were significant. The reasons for the above mentioned significant correlations are as follows: policy requirements of the third plan about improving the research and development in macro-level of the economy, passing new laws of protecting and spreading the foreign direct investment in 2002. It is worth noting that while the above mentioned correlations had improved during the fourth development plan compared to the second plan, it shows weaker performance in comparison with the third plan. As a result, it should be noted that the mentioned correlations in industry sector were not significant during 1995-2002 years. Manuscript profile

Evaluating the performance of the knowledge-based companies settled in science and technology parks is one of the criteria for determining the success rate of these STPs. Promoting the necessary skills in STP managers through the implementation of real and operational performance assessment systems is the best way for fulfilling this goal. The STPs mission could be achieved through a n integrated chain from research to production. Removing the gap between scientific and research ideas into products and services, directing the knowledge-based companies, meeting the actual needs and providing value-added services to the commercialization stage are the major missions of technology parks. The existence of a model for analyzing the role and the status of effective factors through assessment process is considered as one of the important measures for developing science and technology which has been paid less attention in Iran today. Therefore, there are different items used in assessment procedure including gaining some statistics on technology level, the relationship between the components of science and technology system, the status of intellectual property, cooperation methods between higher education and research centers with industries and organizations, diversity of financial resources and the rate of incomes, attracted investments, the scope of providing services and products, the number of customers and many other factors which are considered in a k-based company as key factors. This paper intends to investigate and present the best assessment and effectiveness evaluation model together with the performance of k-based companies mostly obtained based on the tacit knowledge through ISTT experiences. The objective is to localize executive processes in accordance with the cultural and social structures in Iran. Manuscript profile

Knowledge Management and Human Resources Management are two significant fields in Organization Management. Despite the vast literature available on each of them, their putting into practice is indeed challenging. On the one hand, Knowledge Management is considered as an additional work procedure in some organizations mainly due to the intangibility of the value which it adds to the system in the short run. On the other hand, in some other organizations, Human Resources Management is reduced to personnel management and handling the employees official tasks. Therefore its principles such as employees' performance appraisal, leading in most cases to the achievement of organizational goals, are exploited as a means for either encouraging or punishing the employees. This research aims at defining a framework, through studying the different aspects of Knowledge Management and Human Resources Management, in which these two fields interactively produce a combinatory system which helps them effectively flourish and brings about their overlapping so that they can compensate for each field's deficiencies. Business incubators are now recognized in both developed and developing countries as important instruments for promoting entrepreneurship development and technological innovation, specialy at the small and medium enterprise level. Development and proliferation of business incubators has generated an intense debate around their performance and usefulness between opponents and advocates of these organizations. Differing in perspectives, researchers have used different groups point of view to evaluate incubators performance. They have also limited their studies to particular type of incubators. Reviewing relevant literature in Iran and the world, this article has provided an integrated multidimensional framework to evaluation of incubators performance. The proposed framework suggests the performance of incubators can be evaluated in four areas: Management and staff, infrastructure, services and outputs. Performance in management and staff can be assessed in terms of management functions and learning and growth, in infrastructure in terms of location and space, and facilities, in service area in terms of business start up and business assistance, and performance in output can be evaluated in terms of business (companies), products (and/or services) and people. To evaluate each area of performance, generic measures have been derived from literature. The proposed framework can be used as a useful tool and a guideline to evaluate incubators performance by their managers, stakeholders and sponsors, particularly in Iran, in order to internal and external benchmarking and rising competition among and promoting competitiveness of incubators. In the present competitive age, the organizations try to gain competitive edge. In order to gain competitive edge, the managers need to have some information about the function of their organizations and to decide how to improve them. Therefore it is necessary to use a method to gather the information about the performance. There are various methods to evaluate the performance in which the criteria for efficiency of units is that they should be placed in efficiency frontier. These methods ignore the role of no-zero input slack and output slack variables in production and consequently lead to lack of enough accuracy in evaluating the units functions. In this article, the Hybrid model is used in six Decision Making Units (DMUs) and according to results, it is presented as a more accurate and comprehensive measure of evaluation, and efforts have been made to present more realistic results for making decisions. Export is one of the most important economic activities in the success of firms that has attracted attention of researchers and strategists. This attention is because of the convenience in using this strategy in entering in other international markets and due to benefits of export in development firms. This has motivated firms to acquire export knowledge and train it in their companies in order to guarantee their successful performance in expert. Ambidexterity is an approach that can be effective in terms of creating export knowledge. Ambidexterity, (with two dimensions of exploitation and exploration) in export companies, helps organizations to use export knowledge more effectively and efficiently, in other words ambidexterity can help export companies acquire learning capabilities as a learning organization. As a result, this learning capability can lead to more proper new products in competition. This paper investigates the effect of innovation ambidexterity on export knowledge and new product performance. In literature section we reviewed export and competition in international markets, innovation, export knowledge and competition power, ambidexterity and its dimensions and new product development. After reviewing the literature, we created a model based on the literature and experts views. Experts verified our model and the proposed hypotheses after some discussions. Our proposed model shows that ambidexterity and its dimensions has a positive effect on export knowledge and an effect on export performance while export knowledge has a positive effect on export knowledge. One of the most important concerns which have coerced organizations to illustrate tendency toward entrepreneurial activities is survival and growth. This is, thus, to assert that time is ripe for investigating the relationships between entrepreneurial behavior and performance. This study is aimed at investigating the relationship between entrepreneurial orientations and organizational performance of the Islamic Research Institute for Culture and Thought in 2013. To do so, descriptive and correlative research methodologies were used to examine the relationships among these variables. Statistical population of this study contains a number of university staffs at different managerial levels, members of Faculty Board, and experts, who are estimated to constitute 110 persons from the total number of 320. Pearson correlation and multivariable regression methods were used to analyze data. Moreover, Structural Equation Model (SEM) was employed to affirm the model. Results show that there is a positive and direct relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and organizational performance. In addition, there is indirect relationship among innovation, leadership, risk-taking, and aggressive competition as aspects of entrepreneurial orientation, on the one hand, and organizational performance, on the other. However, there was no relationship between independence and organizational performance. Therefore, development of attitude and attention to entrepreneurial orientation in an organization can be effective in elevating organizational performance. Manuscript profile

During recent decades, developed and developing countries’ economy have changed incrementally. In these years, physical resources and assets have lost their strategic significance and importance of knowledge both in production and services has grown significantly. Knowledge is now recognized as the driver of productivity and economic growth, leading to a new focus on the role of information, technology and learning in economic performance. Due to these fundamental changes, establishment of knowledge intensive SMEs and production of Knowledge-based and high tech products has grown considerably. Operating in international markets is one of the most important aspects of knowledge-based products developers. Knowledge-based products export as an effective factor in economic development has been considered by developed countries for many years. Although, utilization of such an economic approach has not long history in Iran and investigation of related information indicates inconsistent results in this field. This paper reviews related literature to shed more lights on knowledge-based export performance and related challenges for Iranian practitioners and then introduces several solutions focusing on the factors affecting exporters’ performance through knowledge-based products in export markets, finally presenting some suggestions both on researches and/or executions. Science and technology parks are institutions supporting technology companies. The performance evaluation of technology companies will help them to improve their performance and make the park supportive services more effective and helpful. Performance evaluation is one of the most important priorities of Yazd Science and Technology Park. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to design and explain a performance evaluation model of technology companies in this Park and analyze the results of its implementation. The evaluation model of Park is based on various performance evaluation models and theories, as well as through brainstorming with park managers and technology companies. This model evaluates the technology companies in four areas: nature of the company, structure and human resources, main idea and technology, and market. The evaluation process is designed according to both quantitative (documents and non-confrontational??) and qualitative (face to - face interviews) indicators. Then, based on this model, information of technology companies are collected and analyzed by an evaluation system. The results of evaluation showed that although the status of companies is far from the park's expectations and goals, it is acceptable in comparison with the community (province and the average of country) in terms of the value-added of manpower and the cost of employment. Also, the analysis of the results represented the validity and comprehensiveness of the model in assessing technology companies. Manuscript profile

Science and Technology Parks (STPs) and incubators, as major contributors to the economic development of the regional business enterprises, are committed to provide targeted support for entrepreneurs, improve manufacturing efficiency, and create economic growth in the community. In order to improve the impact of these supports, STPs and incubators periodically evaluate the activities of residents and, after identifying strengths and weaknesses, provide services tailored to each company's needs. However, it is worthy to ask, what indicators should the evaluation system include that can reflect a true and more comprehensive picture of the company's condition with presenting the company's core needs to the incubator manager? Therefore, in this research some general models of performance evaluation have been reviewed, and because of the benefits of BSC model, especially its compatibility to manufacturing SMEs, this system has been used for the principle of the current study. Then, based on 17 years experience of Khorasan Science and Technology Park in unlocking the region's manufacturing potential, and the opinions of experts in other incubators in the country and around the world, 104 critical indicators have been identified in evaluating the manufacturing SMEs. These indicators also were ranked using U Mann Whitney and Friedman statistical tests. The results showed that the "customer and market" is more important than the other three perspectives in BSC model, and "Market research" and "CEO capability and expertise" are the most important indicators and sub-indicators, respectively.
