Knowledge Translation (KT) is the meeting ground between two fundamentally different processes: research and action. It knits them with communicative relationships. Knowledge translation is a dynamic and interactive process that includes synthesis, dissemination, exchange and ethically sound application of knowledge to provide more effective services and products and strengthen system. This is done through a complex system of researchers and knowledge users. Knowledge translation is catalyst for knowledge cycle in knowledge to action process. Utilization of observation and decision-making appropriate with field conditions that is proposed with knowledge translation is very useful in industrial researches. This research proposes a model for knowledge translation from research to industry (case study: A Defense Industry Research Center). By extending the concept of knowledge translation several models and structures are proposed that each one has a strategy to overcome the gap between what we know and what actually happens in practice. In this research we studied some of them and try to find an appropriate model. The proposed model has seven processes: research needs assessment, input to research, research processes, primary outputs from research, making a sample for taking customers endorsement, using product and final outcome. For data collection, interviews and questionnaires were used. The population is consisting of experts, managers and Defensive Research Centers researchers who are familiar with knowledge translation issues. Manuscript profile

In recent years, many companies have integrated the activities of customer relationship management with knowledge management together as one concept. In fact, the principal reason for the mentioned integration is that the knowledge management plays a key role in the customer relationship management. The potential of bilateral relationship between these two fields and also the critical function of knowledge management in success of customer relationship management, has attracted the attention of researchers to this matter recently. The term of “customer knowledge management” is the combination of knowledge management and customer relationship management. The customer knowledge management requires applying different approaches through considering wide variety of key variables in these fields. The considered key variables for each customer knowledge management model are different according to its model. Generally, many models have been presented for customer knowledge management, including conceptual, process and system model. In this paper, we intend to develop process model which achieved from combination of business engineering model, six business processes based on customer relationship management systems, and four aspects of knowledge management in principle business activities, namely marketing, sales and services. Today, organizations are in a dynamic and competitive environment and increasingly need for bolstering up their innovation capabilities by attention to valuable knowledge and power ofcreation and use of it. Knowledge management is very important in any organization, because organizational innovation does not evolve without dynamic and collaborative knowledge management. Traditional knowledge management systems have been trying to capture formal explicit knowledge management. They could not be successfull in unlocking tacit (implicit) knowledge in the minds of employees. Today, knowledge management 2.0 is based on web 2.0 with enphasis on socialization, collaboration and interaction between people. It tries to capture the largest and most valuable distributed database in any organization, implicit knowledge that is stored in the mind of employees. Each organization which is based on knowledge management 2.0 and social capital, is called an organization 2.0 (enterprise 2.0). It obliterates official controlling and hierarchical order and focuses on socialization and collaboration of mass employees for organizational innovation through social networks. This paper tries to introduce implications of web 2.0 on organizational transforming arising by creation of knowledge management 2.0 in organization 2.0. It assists managers in understanding the leverage roll of social knowledge for development of organizational innovation. Manuscript profile

In today’s competitive market, companies must work closely with their customers and suppliers if they want to survive and improve their own performance and to provide a better response to market forces. In a typical supply chain, information flow is more important than the other two involved flows including material flow and cash flow. It can be lead to enhance organizational knowledge. The main purpose of the research, is to identify, analyse and improve the performance of an assembly line using simulation techniques. Many factors, such as setup time, operating time, failure rate, repair rate, and production rate, can cause data to be non-stationary. Therefor, in order to analyse such complicated systems it is necessary to apply simulation techniques. The most important properties of an assembly line including bottlenecks, cycle time, buffers capacities, and the number of finished products in a given time period are investigated in the research. After data gathering, and building an appropriate simulation model, the simulation experiments were done with Enterprise Dynamic software. The simulation model is implemented and tested against real-world data and is demenostrated by a numerical example. Then, the bottlenecks and performance measures including throughput time and waiting time are identified and analysed in order to develop a new scenario in which opportunities for improvements are presented. The results show significant improvements in terms of reducing waiting time and increasing efficiencies. Manuscript profile

These days, high growth and rapid changes in technology on the one hand, and the utilization of new approaches emerged in the economy and management literature on the other, make knowledge resources become more important than other organizational resources. This viewpoint is based on two main sources; one of them is IT resource and the other is human resource. This kind of attitude to these sources leads to two different approaches of knowledge management: one is related to IT resource and the other is related to human resource. In the investigations about the causes of failure in the most knowledge management projects in knowledge-based organizations, human resource and IT resource approaches are studied separately. In this paper, by these approaches, not only has been the causes of failure in knowledge management projects investigated, but also the importance of these approaches has been studied, too. The study shows that the technology and its benefits cannot be ignored. At the same time, for making organizations less formal, non- technological resource (human resource) management should be at the helm of management priorities. In order to use technology advantages while avoiding its disadvantages, organizations' knowledge resource management should pay attention to the alignment between its technology and human resources. Furthermore, studies show that network infrastructures (extranet, intranet and internet) can provide a proper environment for human resource management. Manuscript profile

The aim of this study is to investigate and identify the barriers to knowledge sharing at a high education institute as one of the necessary steps in implementation of the process of knowledge management at universities and HEIs. On the one hand, higher education is the base of development and the main focus of human recourses enrichment in societies, Therefore implementation of knowledge management in this field is one of the basic requirements and a powerful tool for improving knowledge-based societyS as one of the elements of country’s development vision. On the other hand, by changing the slogan “knowledge is power” to “knowledge sharing is power”, knowledge sharing and extending it in organizations, between organizations and different systems has become the main process and orientation inside organizations concerning knowledge management. Therefore creating a comprehensive vision concerning the challenges and barriers of knowledge sharing and a proper understanding of its facilitators in HEIs and universities seems necessary as a pre-requisite in reaching the goals of knowledge management in the field of higher education in the country. In this regard, 29 key factors in knowledge sharing process inside organizations in 5 main categories of human resources, organizational culture, structure, systems and technology and leadership strategies have been determined and as a case study, relationships between main factors and priority of each of the mentioned factors in 5 categories have been presented at Imam Javad University College. Business intelligence (BI) is the tool used by enterprises to collect, manage and analyze structural and non-structural data and also information by taking advantage of modern information technology. It utilizes a substantial amount of collected data during the daily operational processes, and transforms the data into information and knowledge to avoid the supposition and ignorance of the enterprises. In the last decade, Business intelligence has evolved as one of the critical applications in organizations to provide useful insight, support decision-making, and drive organizational performance. However, to avoid the ineffective experiences during the deployment, it is important to clarify the impact factors of a BI system and find out a Suitable assessment method to evaluate the performance of BI systems. Evaluating the effectiveness of business intelligence systems is vital to our understanding of the value and efficacy of management actions and investments. This research is a descriptive survey. We construct an Assessment model to assess the performance of business intelligence systems based on the outcomes of previous researches. Furthermore, an expert questionnaire using fuzzy analytic hierarchy process (AHP) was used to filter out useful performance indicators. The analytic hierarchy process is a structured technique for organizing and analyzing complex decisions. Finally, we analyze a real case by using the constructed assessment model for Business Intelligence systems. We choose an automotive parts manufacturer as a case. The survey sample population consisted of 66 randomly taken employees and managers of the case. The results indicate that the performance of Business Intelligence system in our case was suitable. Today, managers have come to this understanding that technology is the main source of competitive advantages and also growth in firms, hence it must be taken into consideration. Although Technology Management (TM) has become popular in the management area and many frameworks have been proposed, a practical framework and management tool is not available yet. To this point, Dynamic Capabilities Theory (DCT) has been utilized to introduce a TM framework in technology-based firms by focusing on the creation of the dynamic capabilities’ flows. This article aims to clarify TM activities in DCT context, and moreover tries to determine relationships and interactions among TM, Knowledge Management (KM), and Innovation Management (IM) concepts. By reviewing TM frameworks proposed by different scholars an integral and appropriate framework based on Cetindamar’s et al. (2010) is suggested for technology-based firms. By considering that each of TM activities (Acquisition, Exploitation, Identification, Learning, Protection, and Selection) can create a specific dynamic capability ,six TM tools namely, Patent Analysis, Portfolio Management, roadmapping, S-curve, stage-gate, and Value analysis are described to implement TM activities. These six TM tools and the six TM activities could be a well starting point to apply TM in firms. Manuscript profile

Large and small companies are faced with a significant environmental complexity and turbulent business world. The world is changing at an unprecedented rate due to technological advances. For most businesses, the ability to monitor, identify, and master critical technological skills and technologies is important .In times of economic downturn, technology and innovation can be potent sources of growth as long as the investment and talent are there to drive them. Innovation, creativity and technology are enablers of economic advancement. In this paper, the importance of Innovation, Creativity management and Technology Scouting for organizations in a turbulent environment is explored and it is shown that the winners will be those that react to the crisis by further embracing technology and innovation to find ways to become more productive and competitive. It is shown that sometimes it is better for an organization to put another part of itself out of business rather than have the competition destroy the whole business. Innovation is a team effort and successfully managing innovation teams is an art. The first step toward innovation is the openness of an organization to new ideas and concepts. It is mentioned that managers cannot order creativity; managers can only provide an environment where creativity grows well. An important step is to establish an organizational culture that fosters creativity. As one of the biggest obstacles to fostering innovation and creativity is uptight and rigid people, the paper emphasizes on organizational openness to new ideas and concepts and discusses the ways to achieve this goal with a view to past experiments. Technology scouting is another important factor that can serve as an early warning system. The early detection of new technologies allows an organization time to prepare for or even acquire these technologies before they have a negative business impact on the firm. However, it is important that the process is performed in the right way to guarantee the best possible extent of technology surveillance occurs. In this paper, it is explained that organizations must keep a keen focus on technological areas that could affect the business environment. Overall, it is concluded that for organizations in a turbulent environment, developing an environment that fosters creativity and innovation is an important step in assuring long-term survival. To fail to do so can mean the death of an organization. Manuscript profile

Information is the driving force for today's knowledge economy and information systems are tools for information application. While numerous benefits of information systems are proven, substantial risk of failure is still burdening implementation of such projects. To reduce the risk, attention must be paid to critical success factors. After reviewing the relevant literature, success factors for the transfer of information system technologies are identified. Using such factors, this research evaluates and prioritizes them in the context of Pars Khodro and Saipa Auto Companies, as well as Sazeh Gostar Parts Co. in Iran. A questionnaire was administered among 32 IS/IT experts and consultants in those firms. The chosen firms have had experience with the transfer of information system technologies like MES and ERP. The proposed classification in this research divides critical success factors into three broad categories: organizational factors, tactical factors, and technical factors. Consistent with others' findings in the area of information systems, this research finds that the managerial, organizational and tactical factors dominate the technical aspect, and special attention to the former reduces the risk of failure associated with the implementation of information systems. As one of the primary objectives of this research, it has been found that the most important critical success factors in each category are: 1) Among organizational factors, the support and commitment of top management, and clear understanding of business objectives and organizational requirements are the most important; 2) Within tactical factors, effective project management and competent teams are critical; and 3) Among technical factors, adequate training, extensive organizational participation, and retention of skilled employees are important. Knowledge Management and Human Resources Management are two significant fields in Organization Management. Despite the vast literature available on each of them, their putting into practice is indeed challenging. On the one hand, Knowledge Management is considered as an additional work procedure in some organizations mainly due to the intangibility of the value which it adds to the system in the short run. On the other hand, in some other organizations, Human Resources Management is reduced to personnel management and handling the employees official tasks. Therefore its principles such as employees' performance appraisal, leading in most cases to the achievement of organizational goals, are exploited as a means for either encouraging or punishing the employees. This research aims at defining a framework, through studying the different aspects of Knowledge Management and Human Resources Management, in which these two fields interactively produce a combinatory system which helps them effectively flourish and brings about their overlapping so that they can compensate for each field's deficiencies. The best way to achieve competence in global market is through planning and upgrading core competencies. Not only will the knowledge economy change the experience of workers, but organizations and countries must also rethink their economic strategies. How well an individual, an organization, an industry, a country does in acquiring and applying knowledge will become the key competitive factor. An organization with a good sense of KM has the potential to create significant value, but only if it is linked to its overall strategy and strategic decisions. Knowledge management (KM) is the latest strategy in increasing organizational competitiveness. The concept of treating organizational knowledge as a valuable strategic asset has recently become extremely common. KM efforts have been primarily focused on developing new applications of information technology, complemented to a lesser degree with implementing new organizational forms. The link between knowledge and business strategy has basically been overlooked. Thus KM has unfortunately developed into a matter of information technology primarily, followed by one of organizational behavior with business strategy generally not even considered. The purpose of present paper is to identify the relationship between KM and the firm's competitive advantage. In the first section the pertinent literature related to knowledge management and its impact on the competitive advantage of the firm was examined. Then the Porter's (1979) five forces model and Wernerfelt's (1984) Resource-based view of the firm were reviewed. In the next section the link between KM and strategy formulation by drawing on the resource-based view of the firm is addressed. In the last section the strategic reference points (SRPs) theory has been introduced and applied for classifying the KM strategies. Manuscript profile

Management experts have considered knowledge management, in the course of the past several years, as a managerial solution and have recommended, to the managers, the application of its tools for increasing the enterprise efficiency. This point should be also mentioned that prior to the current development of knowledge management literature, knowledge management existed in enterprises in traditional ways. Definitely the effective development of new knowledge management tools in these enterprises must be firstly based on the same traditional tools, in order to improve them, and secondly these tools must conform to the enterprises' structure- and also the elements of this structure. One of the most crucial elements of this structure is technology level; however, it is needless to mention that knowledge management tools for low-tech enterprises are different from those for high-tech enterprises. Nowadays, having the ability of foresight and decision-making is essential for any organization. Advanced and successful organizations have chosen knowledge-oriented strategy to survive in the competitive and rapidly changing environments. Handling of changes and good decision making about them plays a central role in the future success or failure of organizations. Two important concepts that have important role in managers’ decision makings are Business Intelligence (BI) and Knowledge Management (KM). Business intelligence and knowledge management are relative concepts to each other .The relations between these concepts has not been yet offered clearly and determining the boundary of these two concepts is difficult for managers. Researchers have considered different links between them. In this paper, business intelligence and knowledge management will be defined and then different viewpoints about the type of relationship between these concepts will be expressed. The experiences of the experts are the most important sources of knowledge and institutional training. Sometimes it is hard or impossible to describe tacit knowledge. Experts are very busy and valuable people. The separation of their work for the process of acquiring knowledge, should not be long. Acquisition of tacit knowledge is costly and time taking process. In large organizations, experts are not centralized in a building or a city. Knowledge users may also have broad geographical scope. The techniques of knowledge will not be able to have a performance alone. So, to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the Organization's knowledge acquisition project, storytelling and the scenario techniques for the acquisition and dissemination of experiences of experts are combined. With the compilation of the necessary requirements in order to create a model based on storytelling, validation of the proposed model is outlined. There is no research on effective parameters and system requirements for the acquisition of experience. Therefore, to implement the model these features must be described and prioritized. Increase the efficiency of the knowledge techniques, create the model comparison system, gain experience and increase the participation of experts and other agents of knowledge in organizations, are the results of this research. This model suggests the structured acquisition of tacit knowledge. Manuscript profile

Today, in most project-based organizations, project managers are facing with many challenges. Projects are organizational strategic processes, performed to achieve business goals. Researches indicate a large number of organizations do not achieve the business goals in the execution of their projects. Therefore, in order to reduce and control the problems of the projects, the classic project management approach must be changed to strategic project management for optimizing the performance and success of a project. Strategic project management can propel companies to better achieve corporate goals. So, organizations should have a formal planning and execution framework in accordance with the strategic approach, to achieve competitive advantage and better performance. Project managers and teams must learn how to focus the business aspects of their projects and better support their company’s strategy, rather than just focus on meeting traditional time, budget, and performance goals. This paper employs a literature review approach, and presents the description of the strategic project management concept and its difference with classical project management. Then, the strategic project management models that help organizations to achieve success and create a competitive advantage have been reviewed. Finally, the authors have concluded, in order to achieve competitive advantage, project success and better performance of organization, the executive and project managers should consider the strategic aspect of project management and implement strategic project management processes in organization. Open innovation represents an emergent paradigm, which organizations must become familiar with and apply it in practice sooner or later in order to survive and prevent their failure. Factors such as diffusion of knowledge, increasing costs and complexity of R&D, the shortening of the technology life cycles, the growth of venture capital and presence of knowledgeable suppliers and clients, have weakened the close innovation paradigm. So, self-sufficient, inward focus, monopoly of knowledge and capital investment on internal research, does not create competitive advantages for organizations any more. In open innovation era, organizations make use of both internal and external resource of knowledge to drive their innovation processes, also search different internal and external ways to develop their markets. With regard to inescapable deployment of open innovation, now the question is what items should be considered by organizations in the shift from close innovation to open innovation? In other words, what are the requirements for implementing open innovation approach in organizations? This paper will answer the question by review of pervious research to identify and describe dimensions which could lead organizations in order to implement open innovation. These dimensions which named “the requirements to shift from close innovation into open innovation” and presented in conceptual framework of paper, are: networking, open innovation processes, organizational structures and knowledge management systems. Organizations should notice these dimensions interact each other, so change along one dimension will impact on the others. Manuscript profile

The practical relevance of management research is an ongoing concern for many management scholars. The source of this concern is that arguments relying on experience and intuition for decision making by the individual manager or Organizational Management Council poll, would not guarantee achieving organizational goals and realization of the organizational programs. Evidence-based management as a solution to this problem is to combine the best evidence of ideas, research results and research organization in the field of management to make the best decision. The literature on this subject has had a significant increase in the last decade, yet Iran has not been considered, thus, it is difficult to find a Persian article on the subject. The purpose of this paper is to introduce evidence-based management and to provide a mechanism for management more evidence-based and result-oriented than ever. This research has a practical objective, in terms of nature, quality and library method of data collection (secondary studies, meta-synthesis) and is based on an online study of information sources. The article by hypothesizing the premise that managers’ lack awareness of evidence-based approach has led to this concept to be less considered. By reviewing the literature on evidence and classification of evidence, as well as evidence-based management, we offer a five-step model: “What do we need to know?; Finding the evidence; Getting the needed insights ; Communicating the message; Making the right evidence -based decisions”. With the advent of growing knowledge of the economy and the rapid growth of technology, intellectual property has become the focus of attention of corporate investment managers and researchers. Patent are considered to be the most important intellectual asset, and one of the reasons for this is the extensive research that has been done on the various dimensions of these rights. The patent provides the possessor with the possibility to use the technology exclusively for a limited period (often twenty years). Since many industrial and service companies need to acquire new technologies by the purchase of patent rights to maintain their competitive advantage and sustained business growth, the issue of patent assessment has become a serious challenge in the field of technology. In this research, a model for evaluating and ranking patents based on multi-criteria programming methods is presented and then the resulting model is implemented in a cell phone company. The company is required to choose a technology from four technologies: (1) a dual display, (2) missing phone tracking, (3) wireless communications security, and (4) remote banking to develop its products. The implementation of the model is based on four main criteria: (1) the essence of technology, (2) the cost of technology, (3) the product market, and (4) the technology market in the company led to the choice of wireless security technology. Also the accuracy of the result obtained from the implementation of the research model has been confirmed by the method of ELECTRE. Manuscript profile

The business approach and risk management framework of the company through the establishment and maintenance of the information security management system (ISMS) is a framework for identifying, assessing, controlling and managing the risks associated with information security in the company. It is based on privacy standards, integrity and availability of information assets. In the present report, not only a model for evaluating the information security maturity in the headquarters of one of the oil industry companies is developed, but also the defect analysis and implementation of the existing organization are initially carried out in accordance with the requirements of ISO 27000. By defining the indicators of evaluation and measurement of these indicators in the organization, its maturity is estimated in this security standard. Different models are presented to identify the weaknesses and security powers of a particular organization. The goal is to identify a gap between theory and practice that can be approximated by the process-oriented approach. The puberty model introduced and used in this project, provides a starting point for implementing security, a public view of security, and a framework for prioritizing operations. This model of information security maturity has 5 phases. (The maturity model is information security as a tool for assessing the ability of organizations to meet security goals, that is, confidentiality, integrity and availability, and prevent attacks and access to the mission of the organization in spite of attacks and accidents)??. This model defines a process that has all aspects of security management, measurement, and control. The results of the evaluation show that the organizations which have security investments ahead of time have to understand the needs for high-level management of information security in the organization, and in addition to the actions taken in the field of physical environment, network and personal computers, controls access and encryption have been made to identify the necessary training and culture. Today, the use of joint research and development has facilitated technological progress, which has led to the production of new products, processes and services for the market. In order to protect these achievements, intellectual property rights in international technological cooperation as well as collaborative research projects between the private and public sectors, especially in the field of patents, have become twofold important. Intellectual property plays an essential role in promoting this type of collaboration between the university, industry and government and plays a complementary role in technology development. But a look at Iran's intellectual property policies in joint research projects and consortiums in the past shows that there is no coherent and complete framework for intellectual property arising from these collaborations, so the main purpose of this study is to examine the role of intellectual property rights in joint research projects and consortiums and political advice to those involved. This research is a review of the literature and uses a library methodology and in-depth study of available literature and articles and internal and external books on intellectual property and joint research projects, and specifically on model agreements in the Consortium of Europe and the United Kingdom, and finally a model agreement has been proposed to managers and policy makers active in the field of science and technology development in Iran, given that such agreements are less visible. Complex products and systems (CoPS) are products, systems, services and infrastructure assets that are costly and require advanced technology and are known as capital goods. The technological complexity of CoPS is an important competitive advantage, for companies and even governments. As these products are customized, the development of them is considered as projects. In compare to common projects, the difference in the nature of the CoPS products has led to some differences in managing them. In this study, we are going to explore the differences in the CoPS projects and how they are managed by exploring the comprehensive CoPs literature review from the project management perspective. In the initial search, 84 papers were identified. After studying abstracts, the number of related articles was reduced to 22. After studying articles, we classified them and examined how to managed CoPS projects. According to the results, managing CoPS projects are diffrent from some aspects such as integration management, communication management, scope management, project planning and control, time and cost management, risk management and stakeholder management in compared to common projects. Organizations should consider these differences in managing CoPS projects. The results also indicate that the number of studies carried out on CoPS projects is not very high, especially in Iran. The most important identified gap research is the lack of applied studies in various industries, including communications, defense industries, and so on. Manuscript profile

Cloud computing is a concept introducing in the world of information technology recently, and provides an environment for sharing sources. In this environment, an efficient and effective scheduling system plays a fundamental role. Hence, the problem of scheduling tasks in cloud computing is a very important issue, which tries to identify an optimal scheduling for performing tasks and allocating an optimal source. The purpose of this research is to provide a new hybrid model for optimization of scheduling tasks based on combination of dynamic adaptive and genetic algorithms in a cloud computing environment. The hybrid model aimed to cover the defects of these algorithms. Based on this model, an initial solution was presented for resolving the weakness of the genetic algorithm, the action of low speed as well as the weakness of the dynamic adaptive algorithm, trapping in local answers. In the proposed model, first, dynamic adaptive algorithm could find an appropriate solution for scheduling problem within a good time using the technique of searching required resources by KD tree and data retrieval in parallel. This solution, as an initial answer, was given to the genetic algorithm, and this algorithm performed the optimal research. As a consequence, the final algorithm, a combination of these two algorithms, provides a better load balancing for cloud resources in a relatively acceptable time. Manuscript profile

The Internet of Things is a term used to describe physical objects around the world using their digital communication, while the Internet is all about data sets, considering people and processes. The reason for paying attention to the automation of the robotic process is the continuous expansion of the artificial intelligence market due to the widespread use of this technology in most important fields, especially in the components of the Internet. To make the most of robotic process automation, multiple discrete automations as well as artificial intelligence technologies can be used. With this approach, the robotic automation process can be considered as the connection point of everything Internet to software artificial intelligence projects. Therefore, robotic process automation, which aims to improve business processes, is proposed as an Internet connection point for everything with artificial intelligence projects. Manuscript profile
